Dr. Klaus Aurisch, adjunct faculty, serves as a lecturer in international relations for the Bush School, as well as a business consultant on European Union (EU) matters and law. Dr. Aurisch received a doctorate in law from the University of Cologne, Germany, in 1965. Aurisch's research interests are in trans-Atlantic relations, the EU, as well as German-French relations; and he has published numerous articles on the European community, law, and international negotiation. During his 35-year career with the German diplomatic service, Aurisch held Foreign Service posts at embassies in Greece and Sudan, the United Nations in New York and Vienna, and at consulates in Yugoslavia, Los Angeles, Houston and Strasbourg. He has also served in the Foreign Office in Bonn, where he dealt with general political, NATO, science, and environmental matters. He is fluent in German, English, Italian, and French.
