Curriculum by Semester
Each semester, students choose from a wide variety of coursework in subject matter relating to their specific interests and needs. For many, elective courses will be applied towards a concentration in nonprofit organizations; state and local policy and management; natural resources, environment, and technology policy and administration; security, energy, and technology policy; and health policy and management.
Semester I:
- BUSH 601: Leadership and Public Administration
- PSAA 611: Public Policy Formation
- PSAA 621: Economic Analysis
- BUSH 631: Quantitative Methods in Public Mgmt I
Semester II:
- BUSH 632: Quantitative Methods in Public Mgmt II
- Track requirement: PM- PSAA 634: Public Mgmt or PPA- PSAA 622: Public Finance
- Two electives chosen in consultation with advisor
Summer:
- Professional Internship (The internship requirement may be waived if you have at least two years of recent professional-level public service experience related to your degree and career goals.)
Semester III
- PSAA 675: Capstone Seminar I
- Track requirement: PM- PSAA 623: Politics of Public Budgeting or PPA- PSAA 615: Policy Analysis
- Two electives chosen in consultation with advisor
Semester IV:
- PSAA 676: Capstone Seminar II
- Three electives chosen in consultation with advisor
