Berlin and Brussels Trip 2008
The Bush School of Government and Public Service and the European Union Center of Excellence at Texas A&M University were pleased to coordinate a study-abroad seminar on European Foreign and Security Policy in the Transatlantic Context. The seminar took place in Brussels and Berlin during May 2008 and was led by Bush School faculty. The seminar offered a unique combination of academic expertise and policy perspectives which provided students with an understanding of European security and transatlantic relations that could not be achieved solely in a US classroom. Students attended lectures, briefings, discussions, and academic events delivered by experts in their field. In addition, students visited important sites such as the European Commission, the Council of the European Union, NATO HQ, the German Foreign Ministry, and the German Parliament. In Brussels and Berlin, students participated in political, cultural, and social events which helped further their understanding of the European Union and its relationship with the United States of America. Students also enjoyed a tour of the Battle of Berlin. The seminar carried three semester credits.
