Joint-Degree Programs
The Bush School of Government & Public Service has joined with both the Department of Political Science and the Department of Economics to offer three joint-degree programs that allow political science and economics majors to enter the Bush School at the beginning of their fourth year of study at Texas A&M University. This enables students to receive both their undergraduate and master's degrees in five years.
Each joint-degree program requires completion of 96 to 104 hours of undergraduate coursework and a 3.25 GPA to qualify for admission. Interested students should work with their department advisor in their sophomore years to ensure that all prerequisite courses will be completed before Bush School entry. Admissions criteria, including a GRE test and recommendations, will be the same as for other Bush School degree applicants. Interested juniors should apply in the winter/spring preceding fall entry.
Those who are admitted and complete their coursework will receive both degrees upon completion of the entire 5-year joint degree program.
