Annual Spring Forum

The Bush School of Government and Public Service at Texas A&M University and our nonprofit community partners host an Annual Nonprofit Spring Forum. The Spring Forum provides an opportunity for nonprofit staff, board members, students, and volunteers to come together for a day of learning, refreshment, and networking. Participants reflect on the work of the nonprofit sector and gain practical skills that will improve the effectiveness of nonprofits in our community. Bringing together academic researchers, consultants, industry professionals, and aspiring leaders, the Spring Forum is a unique learning opportunity. The day usually includes nationally recognized speakers and concurrent workshops.

See forum website for information about upcoming dates.

Emerging Leaders in the Nonprofit Sector

The Bush School of Government and Public Service at Texas A&M offers a non-credit professional development program for emerging leaders in the field of nonprofit management. The program includes a week in-residence with other young nonprofit professionals and a six month follow-up program. During the week in-residence, students participate in leadership self assessment, one-on-one coaching sessions, and dynamic workshops. The six-month follow-up program includes online training workshops and coaching sessions. Students gain a better understanding of their leadership skills, nonprofit management challenges, and receive support to improve their leadership capabilities. A unique aspect of the program is that participants must identify a mentor or coach from within their own organization or professional network. Those individuals participate in a two week online workshop to help them become more effective mentors. This program is made possible through the generous support of the OneStar Foundation.
