Recruitment schedule:
Individual Visits
One of the best ways to determine if the Bush School of Government & Public Service at Texas A&M University is the right school for you is to visit in person. If you can attend one of our scheduled Open Houses, then please RSVP at your convenience. But, if your schedule needs more flexibility, then we will be happy to schedule a meeting and tour at a time convenient for you.
Just complete the individual visit reservation form to indicate when you would like to tour (day and time) and list your program and concentration interests. A current resume (with educational and relevant work experiences, language ability, travel, community/campus involvement and awards, and your GPA) is encouraged. Please RSVP at least one to two weeks in advance and an itinerary will be created for you.
Bush School Open House
Please join us for one of our upcoming Bush School Open Houses to learn more about our Master of Public Service and Administration (MPSA) and Master's Program in International Affairs (MPIA), 5-year joint degree programs, and three graduate certificates. The events will offer you an in-depth view of the degree program curriculum, admissions processes, cost and financial aid opportunities, and internship and career options. You'll also be invited to have lunch with students, staff, and/or faculty.
Fall events are scheduled on Fridays from 11:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. in Rm. 1110 of the Allen Building (part of the Bush Library and Museum complex on West Campus).
- September 26, 2008
- October 17, 2008
- November 7, 2008
- November 21, 2008
- January 9, 2009
During the Bush School Open House events, you will have the opportunity to . . .
- hear more about our degree program content and co-curricular activities, including curriculum design and emphasis, course options, leadership and writing programs, various speaker series, study abroad opportunities, etc.;
- hear more about how our graduate certificates can enhance your education and when best to pursue them;
- learn about the degree admission process: required materials, the process timeline, and average statistics and qualifications;
- become familiar with degree program costs and scholarship opportunities;
- hear about relevant internships internships in both public and international service and the kinds of career opportunities to be found in both fields;
- learn about student opportunities to serve;
- engage in Q&A sessions and have lunch with students, staff, and/or faculty to hear more about their experiences and interactions; and
- take a tour of the Bush School's home in the Allen Building.
Please complete the Open House reservation form to reserve space at your Bush School Open House. We also would like to see a current resume when possible (with educational and relevant work experiences, language ability, travel, community/campus involvement and awards, and your GPA), which can be e-mailed to us at the address below. We advise you to RSVP to the Bush School Open House at least one week in advance, but we can accommodate shorter notice with a call or e-mail.
The Open House format allows for a come and go arrangement for those who cannot stay the entire time. Come for what you can, and we can cover what you might miss during lunch. (We'll eat at noon.) If the above dates do not work for your schedule, individual visits can also be arranged.
As for parking arrangements, with a valid TAMU permit, you can park in PA 43 out by the Conference Center. If no permit, contact Kathryn and we'll arrange for a hang tag to park in PA 111. For a campus map click here and zoom on the bottom left corner. Driving directions are found on our website.
